Our Story

We aim to bring the world's leading educational programmes to entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs across the Middle East North Africa region, to help them upskill their future. We believe in making these programmes accessible and affordable. Just because you were born in San Francisco or can afford to study in London doesn't mean you should have access to better educational opportunities and career prospects.

Our story began in 2020 when we witnessed the great restrictions imposed on global travel, and the impact these were having on millions of peoples' educational options and prospects, especially in the MENA region, where students often travel abroad to learn. We were also frustrated by the high cost of education abroad, having friends and family that spend the better half of their lives paying off their student loans, which becomes even more difficult for those working in emerging markets. Academe was born out of those challenges, and seeks to restore equal opportunity and affordability to high quality education.

Leadership team

Karim is a serial entrepreneur and leader with more than 20 years of varied experience starting at leading global corporations followed by a move into creating, launching, and scaling companies and entrepreneurship programmes across the Middle East. In addition to being a recognised mentor to startups globally, he also cofounded Beatbox Design, C2 Ventures, and Changelabs, a MAGNITT-rated top MENA accelerator. He sits on a number of boards across the healthcare, education, and energy sectors, obtained his BA in History from Boston College, and his MBA from NYU's Stern School of Business.
